A broken roller shutter cannot wait
When a shutter stays down in the morning, you wake up to a pitch-dark room and a window you cannot use. When it refuses to come down at night, the security of your home or shop is on the line — a real worry if you are new to the city or about to travel. At Store Xpress, our emergency roller shutter repair service is built around one simple idea: you should never be left more than a few hours with an opening out of action. Our line answers at any hour, a technician calls you back within minutes for an initial diagnosis over the phone — in English if you prefer — and then sets off with the most common spare parts already in the van.
This way of working lets us fix the majority of breakdowns on the very first visit, whether you live in a flat in the 15th arrondissement, a house in Sarcelles or run a shop in Ivry-sur-Seine. If a specific part has to be ordered, we secure the opening temporarily and come back to finish the repair as soon as possible.
The faults we handle as emergencies
Shutter jammed open or closed
A jam rarely happens by chance: a dislodged slat, a broken curtain fixing, a seized roller tube, a tired motor capacitor. Forcing it almost always makes things worse and can bend the curtain. Our technicians identify the real cause of the blockage and free the shutter without any further damage.
Curtain off its guide rails
After a gust of wind, an impact or one movement too brisk, the curtain can jump out of its guide rails and travel crooked. We put it back in place, check the alignment of the rails, replace any damaged slats and inspect the end stops so it does not happen again.
Broken or deformed slats
Hail, an attempted break-in, plain wear and tear: cracked slats weaken the whole curtain. We replace only the affected slats when the profile is still manufactured, or the entire curtain if the model is too old — in PVC or aluminium.
Broken strap or crank handle
The most frequent failure on manual shutters: a frayed strap that finally snaps, or a crank winch with worn-out gears. Replacement is done in a single visit, along with a check of the strap reel and the roller tube while we are there.
Dead motor
A motor that hums without moving the curtain, overheats and cuts out, or stays completely silent must be tested before being written off: the fault sometimes lies in the wall switch, the remote control or the power supply. If the motor really is to blame, we replace it with an equivalent model — whatever the brand.
Shutter that only rises halfway
Misadjusted limit settings, tired compensation springs, friction in the guide rails: a shutter that struggles to rise is warning you of a more serious failure to come. Acting early avoids replacing the whole mechanism.

How an emergency call-out works
- Call and initial diagnosis: you describe the fault — ideally with a photo sent by WhatsApp — and we give you a price range and an arrival time straight away.
- Fast dispatch: the technician for your area sets off with the usual motors, straps, curtain fixings, slats and capacitors on board.
- On-site diagnosis: the box is opened, the mechanism and power supply are tested, and the exact origin of the fault is identified.
- Immediate repair: in the great majority of cases, the shutter is working again by the end of the first visit.
- Final checks: full up-and-down cycles, limit adjustment, practical advice and an itemised invoice you can pass on to your landlord or insurer.
After an attempted break-in
A forced shutter needs to be put right without delay: it is your first barrier against a repeat intrusion, and French insurers usually require the opening to be secured quickly. We prioritise post-break-in call-outs to straighten or replace the curtain, change the automatic locks and, if you wish, reinforce the whole assembly with aluminium slats and a motor with obstacle detection. You receive a written intervention report for your insurance claim — we can help you understand the paperwork if French bureaucracy is still new to you. This service complements our range of reinforced electric roller shutters for ground-floor flats and business premises.
Emergencies covered across the whole Paris region
Our on-call teams cover Paris and the whole of Île-de-France: Neuilly-sur-Seine, Pantin, Ivry-sur-Seine, Sarcelles, Melun, Palaiseau, Rambouillet, Le Kremlin-Bicêtre and every surrounding commune. In densely built areas, the typical arrival time is between one and three hours. To stop the same fault happening twice, consider a roller shutter maintenance contract afterwards: most of the emergencies we deal with would have been avoided by a single annual check-up.

Frequently asked questions about emergency shutter repair
How much does an emergency roller shutter repair cost?
The call-out with diagnosis starts at €90 in Île-de-France, deducted from the repair if you entrust it to us. A common repair (strap, fixings, re-railing the curtain) generally runs between €120 and €250; a motor replacement between €250 and €450 including fitting.
Do you really come out at night and on Sundays?
Yes — our on-call rota runs 24/7. At night and on public holidays a surcharge applies, and it is stated clearly on the phone before anyone travels, so there are never surprises on the invoice.
My shutter is stuck — can I try to free it myself?
Avoid forcing the strap, the crank handle or the curtain: you risk bending slats or breaking the winch, which makes the repair more expensive. Cut the power if the motor is straining, then describe the fault to us — we will tell you whether any simple, risk-free step is possible.
Does a dead motor mean replacing the whole shutter?
No. In most cases only the tubular motor is replaced, inside the existing roller tube. The curtain, box and guide rails are kept, which divides the cost by two or three compared with a brand-new shutter.
Do you repair shutters after an attempted burglary?
Yes, as a priority. We secure the opening the same day, restore or replace the shutter, and provide a written intervention report you can use for your insurance claim.
