Your patio awning specialist in the Greater Paris region
A retractable patio awning — what the French call a store banne — is the simplest way to turn a terrace, a balcony or a shopfront into a genuinely usable outdoor space, sheltered from the sun from May to October. For more than ten years, Store Xpress has been helping homeowners, expats, shop owners, hotels, embassies and international companies across Paris and Île-de-France with every stage of a made-to-measure awning project: advice, on-site survey, supply, fitting, motorisation, repair and ongoing servicing.
Whether you need a full cassette awning for an exposed façade, an economical open (non-cassette) model for a sheltered balcony, or an extra-wide terrace awning for a restaurant, our technicians will point you towards the right solution for your orientation, your dimensions and your budget. We work with all the leading European brands and offer a wide choice of fabrics — solution-dyed acrylic, micro-perforated screen, polyester — in dozens of colours and stripes. And if your French is still a work in progress, no problem: we are used to guiding an international clientele through every step, quotes and paperwork included.
Our patio awning services
Bespoke awning installation
We carry out the fitting of new patio awnings on every kind of support: dressed stone, concrete, brick, timber frame or externally insulated façades. After a free technical survey, we propose an awning built to the exact dimensions of your terrace, with or without a protective cassette, in a manual or motorised version. Fixings are engineered to withstand the wind loads your façade will actually see — no shortcuts.
Awning motorisation
Tired of winding a crank handle? We handle the motorisation of existing awnings: hard-wired or radio motors, remote controls, a wind sensor that automatically retracts the fabric when gusts pick up, and full smartphone control. Motorising an awning extends its working life and makes it far safer to use.
Awning repair and emergency call-outs
Torn fabric, snapped arm, awning stuck open, silent motor? Our emergency patio awning repair service responds quickly — often the same day — anywhere in Paris and Île-de-France. We repair every brand: replacement fabric, articulated arms, motors, crank gears and cassettes.
Servicing and maintenance
A well-maintained awning lasts twice as long. Our awning maintenance plans cover fabric cleaning, inspection of fixings and arms, greasing of the mechanisms and pitch adjustment — for private homes as well as shops, hotels and restaurants that put their terrace awnings through heavy daily use.

Which patio awning should you choose?
Choosing the right awning comes down to three things: how well the mechanism is protected, the dimensions you need, and whether it is motorised.
- Full cassette awning: when retracted, the fabric and arms are completely enclosed in an aluminium housing. It is the most durable option and the one we recommend for façades exposed to rain and to Parisian urban pollution.
- Semi-cassette awning: an excellent compromise between protection and budget, with the fabric sheltered under a rigid hood while the arms remain visible.
- Open (non-cassette) awning: robust and economical, with no housing at all — ideal underneath a balcony or a roof overhang that already shields the mechanism.
- Dimensions: from 2 m to well over 12 m wide in coupled modules, with a projection of 1.5 m to 4 m depending on the model.
- Manual or motorised: a crank handle is fine for small awnings; beyond 4 m of width, motorisation is strongly advised — and a wind sensor even more so.
Awnings for shops, hotels and restaurants
A terrace awning is also a powerful piece of street-front branding. We equip boutiques, cafés, hotels and restaurants throughout Paris and Île-de-France with commercial-grade awnings featuring a personalised valance: your name, logo and colours printed directly onto the fabric. A properly sized terrace awning increases the usable floor area of your establishment and keeps guests comfortable in every season — drop-down windbreak valances extend the terrace well into autumn. We regularly work with international hotel groups, franchise managers and embassy facilities teams, and we are happy to provide documentation in English for head office.

Frequently asked questions about patio awnings
How much does it cost to install a patio awning in Paris?
The price depends on the dimensions, the type of cassette and the motorisation. As a guide, expect from around €800 for a small manual open awning to over €4,000 for a large motorised full cassette with a wind sensor. We provide a free, precise quote after a technical survey.
Can a torn awning fabric be repaired?
A small tear can sometimes be heat-welded, but in most cases a complete fabric replacement is the more durable solution. We replace fabric on site, on every brand, with a wide choice of colours and finishes.
Can you motorise an existing manual awning?
Yes, in the vast majority of cases. We replace the crank gear with a tubular motor matched to your awning's roller tube, controlled by radio remote, with an optional wind sensor and smartphone control.
Do you offer emergency call-outs for a jammed awning?
Yes. Our emergency team operates 7 days a week across Paris and Île-de-France, often arriving the same day, for a jammed awning, a broken arm or a failed motor. Call 07 66 54 96 41.
