The metal shutter partner for Paris retailers
A showcase for your business by day, a barrier against intruders by night: the metal security shutter is one of the most strategic pieces of equipment in any commercial premises. A shopfront that refuses to open on a busy Saturday morning means a full day of lost turnover; a curtain that will not come down at closing time leaves your stock exposed until the next day. That is why Store Xpress has built a complete service around shopfront security: supply and installation of new shutters, unjamming and repair of all makes and models, motorisation of manual curtains, compliance upgrades and preventive maintenance contracts.
Every week our teams fit and repair shutters for fashion boutiques, pharmacies, jewellers, restaurants, bank branches, convenience stores and franchise outlets — from the Sentier garment district to Belleville, from Rue de Rivoli to the retail parks of the suburbs. We work comfortably in English as well as French, which makes life easier for international retailers, hotel groups and franchise managers opening or running stores in Paris. Our workshop vans carry slats, springs, motors, locks and roller shafts as standard, so the majority of faults are fixed on the very first visit.
Everything we do around metal shutters
24/7 emergency repair and unjamming
Shutter stuck halfway, lock smashed in an attempted break-in, motor humming without lifting the curtain, slats bent out of shape: our emergency metal shutter team is on call day and night, weekends and public holidays included, to reopen or secure your premises — usually within the hour inside central Paris.
Installation of new shutters
Whether you are fitting out a new shopfront or replacing a worn-out closure, we manufacture your shutter to measure and install it complete: a manual model with direct pull or spring assistance for smaller openings, or an electric shutter with a central or tubular motor for wide frontages and intensive daily use. Site survey, removal of the old equipment, electrical connection and final adjustment are all included in our quotes.
Motorising an existing manual shutter
Still hauling your curtain up and down by hand every morning and evening? Our metal shutter automation service removes that daily effort: we fit a central motor onto your existing shaft, add an exterior key switch, remote control or push-button panel, and include a manual override for power cuts.
Servicing and compliance
A shop shutter is a mechanical assembly that wears a little every single day, and regular servicing is a legal requirement for premises open to the public in France. Our metal shutter maintenance plans cover lubrication and checks on the springs, motor and safety brake, with a written report you can produce for an inspection or an insurance claim.

Which type of metal shutter suits your business?
The curtain you choose determines your level of security, the look of your façade and how visible your window display remains once the shop is closed.
- Solid slat shutter: in galvanised steel or aluminium, it hides the shopfront completely and offers the highest resistance to forced entry. It is the standard choice for jewellers, tobacconists and pharmacies holding sensitive stock.
- Micro-perforated shutter: fine perforations let passers-by glimpse your lit window display while keeping an excellent level of protection. Ideal for fashion boutiques and shops on streets that stay lively in the evening.
- Rolling security grille: its open steel mesh leaves the window fully visible — a favourite of shopping arcades, estate agencies and showrooms where CCTV completes the protection.
- Rod and tube grille: a traditional, very open variant, often required in shopping centres to preserve airflow and smoke extraction.
Every model is available with manual or electric operation, reinforced side guides, side bolts or a central lock, and can be powder-coated in the RAL colour of your brand.
Solutions designed around your trade
A late-night pharmacy has different constraints from a restaurant closing at midnight or a pop-up store. We always tailor our recommendation to your business: a partial-opening shutter with a wicket door for a bakery's early deliveries, a micro-perforated curtain with window lighting for opticians, an open grille for a brasserie's covered terrace, twin closures for jewellers and bureaux de change. Franchise networks, international chains and commercial landlords get a single point of contact for every one of their Île-de-France locations, with consolidated quotes and reporting in English on request.

Frequently asked questions about metal shutters
How much does a metal shutter for a shop cost?
Allow €1,200 to €2,500 fitted for a manual shutter on a small shopfront, and €2,500 to over €6,000 for a wide electric shutter with solid or micro-perforated slats. The price depends on the dimensions, the type of curtain and the motorisation; our free quote breaks down every item.
Should I choose solid or micro-perforated slats?
Solid slats give maximum concealment and resistance, recommended for sensitive stock. Micro-perforated slats keep your window display visible at night while still protecting effectively — the best choice on busy shopping streets.
Do you repair metal shutters of all brands?
Yes. Our technicians work on every manufacturer and every age of equipment: replacement of slats, springs, shafts, locks or motors, even if the shutter was originally fitted by another company.
Do you come out at night if my shutter is stuck?
Yes, our emergency service runs 24/7 across Paris and Île-de-France to release a jammed shutter or secure a shopfront after a break-in. Call 07 66 54 96 41 at any hour.
